- Refinery Wastewater Ammonia Reduction - Turkey
A refinery in Turkey operates an activated sludge wastewater facility accepting process and sanitary wastewaters. The facility handles 1.6 million gallons per day and experienced continual issues with excess ammonia. They were using a biological product already but with less than desired results.
Objective: Reduce and maintain ammonia concentrations in the effluent below 20mg/L
The facility initiated a treatment protocol utilizing BZT® Aquaculture.
Result:
Before treatment, effluent ammonia concentration was erratic and often exceeded the regulatory limit of 20mg/L. Within days, effluent ammonia decreased significantly and then stabilized at very low concentrations (below 1mg/l). The customer is very satisfied with the results and continues to treat using BZT® Aquaculture.
