Peru Shrimp Farm - Intensive Culturing with Green House

Treatment Summary

One of the largest shrimp producers in Peru with Extensive and Intensive farming has been using BZT® Waste Digester and BZT® Aquaculture for > one year with excellent results. Extensive farming is done in open ponds and Intensive Farming is done in ponds with liners and green houses.

Objective:

To increase production using the existing infrastructure, BZT® Waste Digester and BZT® Aquaculture were applied as per UTI protocol and Best Aquaculture Practices. Normal production was approximately 8 tons, and the customer was aiming for > 15 tons/Ha/cycle with > 75% survival, >20g ABW and <2.0 FCR.

Results:

After 116 days of culture, production weighed in at 15,431 Kg/Ha for the pond treated with BZT® products, a 3,234 increase over an identical Control pond not treated with BZT® products. The Average Body Weight (ABW) target was moderately exceeded at 20.18 grams, and the Survival rate of 95% far exceeded expectation.

Results from BZT® treatment are the best the customer ever had. Control ponds also showed significant improvement using UTI technical support and Best Aquaculture Practices. The customer is currently expanding use of BZT® into more intensive and extensive ponds.
