Chemical-Free Drain & Septic Treatment: Good for You and Planet Earth

Septic_tank

United-Tech develops revolutionary, highly effective products to treat organic waste. We aim to reduce dependency on harmful, caustic chemicals that often create more problems than they ‘solve.’

One such discovery is BZT Drain & Septic, a living, all-natural and biological product designed to treat and maintain healthy pipes, keep odors down naturally (by outcompeting H2S-forming bacteria for nutrients), and maintain biologically-balanced septic tanks.

Providing eco-friendly treatment solutions is our business. Drainlines and septic systems are a piece of cake for BZT. Odors are easily managed, drains flow free, and septic systems become much less of a hassle to maintain.

Then there are the extremes. For example, this Florida man recently died from Hydrogen Sulfide inhalation from his septic system. Though not a common occurrence, it can be treated - naturally - and prevented. For example, the microorganisms in BZT Drain & Septic outcompete H2S-forming bacteria for nutrients. This process in turn reduces or eliminates the foul-smelling fumes that often build up in these systems.

Why reduce your dependance on caustic chemicals? Many drain treatment products contain large amounts of acids, lye or other caustic compounds. These may temporarily burn away clogging material, but the use of chemicals in such vital systems can and often create more upsets. For instance, drain-opening chemicals regularly wipe out the beneficial bacteria these systems depend on for liquefaction - on contact. Chemicals loosen chunks of solids, but because there is no digestion of the waste occurring, this material often clumps up further down the line and causes blockage.

When beneficial microorganisms within a waste treatment system are abused or destroyed, digestion of organic material slows or stops. Caustics change soil structure, too, breaking down the drain field into finer particles of dirt that pack together, reducing the ability of the liquids to drain. The result is no surprise to us, a bog of eternal stench.

BZT® Drain & Septic can eliminate the need for chemical treatment and prevent these upsets - safely, efficiently, and naturally.

So why on earth should you replace the drain openers, septic treatments and odor masking chemicals you’ve been using for years with BZT Drain & Septic? Because it’s good for you. It’s good for the planet, and it works. Solutions designed not to contribute to more problems later are sensible, responsible, and make life better for everyone.

Fantastic, Rare Look @ James Cameron's 'Sustainable' Ranch

James Cameron, environmental steward and award-winning filmmaker responsible for “Terminator,” “Aliens,” “Avatar,” “Titanic” and others, offers Nightline a rare glimpse into his private ranch. Beware, commercials precede the video. Winking

My favorite bit: “We use a lot of computer power, and so you got a lot of people at work stations. We’re drawing on a lot of wattage for all the computers and render machines. What we’re going to do is, essentially, put a 1.2-megawatt solar power station on the roof of our new facility so we will actually be net zero in energy.”

We need more people like this on Planet Earth. (Bruce)

Video - Balloon Drop @ Tulsa Chamber's "Business After Dark"

I attended the 2011 “Business After Dark” event at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, Catoosa, OK last night.

The meeting area was quite large, stocked with 80+ trade booths giving away tons of goodies, schwag and literature. People were quite enthusiastic and friendly, and I think I passed out 100 business cards in the course of two hours. The food was excellent, professionally catered and custom prepared for those with special diets (my wife is allergic to fowl and I am a vegetarian, and we were attended to with great professional courtesy). I tried the pasta with fresh garlic, basil and alfredo, and my wife grazed on swedish meatballs, shrimp pasta, and random finger foods. Yum!

All in all, it was a fantastic event, though parking was a bit challenging as well as traffic. The interchange east of Tulsa made for a rather lengthy line of cars, as the start time of the event coincides with rush hour (5PM). Another day in the neighborhood for this part of the country, as the orange cone should be nominated as our State Tree. I will definitely be attending next year.

Here’s the Balloon Drop video I captured with my iPhone:

Testimonial - BZT Aquaculture - Central Texas Horse Farm

554226_92759256

Here’s a letter we received from a happy customer in Central Texas.

“I wanted to write and tell you about the success I’ve had with your product BZT Aquaculture. I own a horse farm in central Texas and have numerous water troughs for the horses. With the mild climate in this area, there is a considerable problem with algae forming and also sediment on the bottom of the tanks from dropped feed. Some of these troughs are made of metal, but nearly half are made of concrete set deep in the ground, making cleaning very difficult. I started using [BZT] Aquaculture and the tanks cleared up in a few days! I am really glad I found this product. It saves enormously in time and labor, as the tanks do not have to be drained and bleached weekly. I just want to let you know how much I appreciate BZT Aquaculture. Thank you for such a useful product!Joan Cole, OwnerJC Quarter Horses

What Not to Dispose in your Garbage Disposal

Our Facebook friends 7 Rico Plumbing Co. (Los Angeles) posted a helpful reminder. If you didn’t already know, your Garbage Disposal is not meant to act as a trash receptacle, but often people, especially the younger ones, aren’t privy to this.

In fact, most of the scraps you typically place down your disposal can be composted, but that’s another post entirely. Happy (Bruce)

For a healthier longer life of your garbage disposal, here is a list of a few common items you should Not put down your garbage disposal.

Odor Control for Ponds, Aquaculture, Water Features

Here’s a good question. How does BZT® Aquaculture remove odors?

1319123_41078066

Ponds, whether commercial, decorative, or agricultural, occasionally exhibit some rather foul odors. Most pond odors are caused by hydrogen sulfide (rotten egg smell), sulfur, and ammonia. Odors are also caused by algae, such as Chara (skunkweed), as well as cyanobacteria (blue-green algae).

BZT® Aquaculture is formulated with beneficial bacteria selected for the ability to outcompete hydrogen sulfide producing microbes. Sulfur thrives in pond bottom solids (dead algae, organic matter, feces etc). BZT Aquaculture breaks down bottom solids where sulfur producing bacteria thrive, accelerating the nitrogen cycle naturally and enhancing the rate at which ammonia is converted into nitrite. Ammonia is the principle cause of odors when high stocking densities or populations of fish are present.

Lastly, removing odors caused by algae is simple: BZT Aquaculture outcompete the algae for nutrients, thus preventing it from thriving. We covered this in the following article: “Pond Algae Treatment: Target the Source, Not the symptom.”

In summary, by insuring high populations of beneficial microbes and enzymes, BZT Aquaculture can alleviate most common odor problems. If your pond or water feature exhibits undesirable odors, we can help.

Ancient Delight in a Tiny Cup

fresh brewed turkish coffee

One delightful cup of Turkish coffee courtesy of an awesome Distributor and a generous coworker. Delish!

Did you know that coffee, as we drink it now, was originally prepared in the Ottoman Palace? They were the first documented people to roast the beans prior to consumption. If you're a serious Bean Juice connoisseur as I am, you'll find great pleasure in tasting the original roast from Turkey.

Read about the history of Coffee at http://www.turkishcoffeeworld.com/History_of_Coffee_s/60.htm

Since we’re on the subject of coffee, and we’re an Environmental company, it would behoove us to recommend ways to recycle your old coffee grounds.

Do you have more tips on how to reuse/recycle coffee? If so, send us an email.

Recommendation - BZT Waste Digester - Concrete Structures o/t Midwest

Jim Ryan, Vice President at Concrete Structures of the Midwest, Inc. has this to say about our product BZT Waste Digester:

Concrete Structures has used the BZT Waste Digester with the wetting agent at several Kraft Nabisco plants. The product has removed deeply embedded grease from the concrete surface and allowed us to bond new epoxy flooring to the existing concrete. In areas where the waste digester was not used we did not develop good adhesion. I will continue to use the product.

Thanks Jim!
