OBT® is a compound of naturally occurring microorganisms, enzymes, and microbial nutrients formulated for the cleanup of oil spills on land and water. Organic compounds, such as crude oil and gasoline, are converted into non-toxic substances (carbon dioxide, water and oxygen), thereby ensuring a cleaner, more sustainable environment.

The microorganisms and enzymes that make up OBT® are naturally occurring, non-genetically altered, and non-pathogenic. A patented microencapsulation process provides OBT® a shelf life of up to two years and ensures that viable, potent "first-generation" strains are ready to work on the project immediately.

TREATMENT SUMMARY

A perfect example of OBT® effectiveness:

A government agency needed to treat a heavy clay/soil mix contaminated with hydrocarbons. Data indicated the presence of elevated TPH (Total Petroleum Hydrocarbon) levels ranging from 150mg/Kg to 3,700 mg/Kg.

After just three months of treatment, TPH levels were reduced to less than 10 mg/Kg. The agency was able to officially close the site. (photos right)
