Concrete Floor Cleaning - Illinois
Biological
Treatment
Summary
The
Situation
A building contractor in Illinois specializes in the restoration of large manufacturing structures that can require the cleaning and resealing of concrete surfaces. They utilize an epoxy paint to coat concrete floors. Often these floors have a build up of decades of oil and grease, literally ground deep into the concrete. Standard cleaning practices proved to be inefficient at removing oil and grease contaminants that had penetrated deep into the concrete. When epoxy coatings were applied to these surfaces, adhesion issues arose in some areas. This created significant delays and cost over-runs due to re-application of the floor coating. They first contacted us on a recommendation from the epoxy coating manufacturer familiar with our products.
Objective
Clean a heavily contaminated concrete floor so epoxy floor coatings would adhere. A treatment combining BZT® Waste Digester and BZT® Xtra-Wet was used to clean the floor.
The
Results
After treatment, no short-term or long-term adhesion problems have been witnessed. These excellent results have motivated this contractor to continue to use United-Tech products when floor conditions require aggressive deep cleaning to prep surfaces for epoxy or similar coatings.
