Biological Treatment Summary

The Situation

A WWTP in Lima, Peru receives wastewater from sixty commercial shops: restaurants, fast food, clothing, groceries etc. A brand new plant, it was designed for 150 cubic meters. However, actual influent was 300-500 m3 during weekends, and excess wastewater was flowing to the final tank without any treatment.

Odor was very high in peak hours and they could not discharge the water to a river or sewer.

Objective

To find a permanent solution for increasing WWTP efficiency during the second semester. The manager contacted United-Tech, Inc. for help and treatment BZT® Waste Digester was applied to WWTP tanks and lift stations.

The Results

The mall manager reported odors having disappeared after only two days.

BZT® treatments are continuing.
